The driver of an Office of the Fire Commissioner pickup truck that rear-ended another vehicle, killing two teens in October, has been charged.
Timothy Langevin, 45, appeared in Portage la Prairie court on Monday.
Langevin was travelling westbound on the Trans-Canada Highway near MacGregor on October 5 when the accident occurred.
RCMP say the pickup truck struck the rear of another vehicle carrying four people. Two men were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 17-year-old boy from Austin was pronounced deceased at the scene, while a 14-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Langevin — a resident of Elie — has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm. He will next appear in court on January 24.
