Winnipeg police said a man has been arrested and charged with numerous weapon and drug offences after a traffic stop led them to two houses on Monday.
Police said they pulled over a Chrysler Sebring on Watt Street at about 4:35 p.m. Monday. Police said a man and a woman in the car were taken into custody after a lengthy drug investigation.
About an hour later, police raided two homes – one on Gordon Avenue and one on Talbot Avenue. Inside, they found $2,145 cash, 6.5 ounces of cocaine worth $7,800, 14 tablets of Xanax and a loaded .40 calibre handgun with ammunition.
A 24-year-old man is facing numerous drug and weapons offenses. He was released on a promise to appear.
