Winnipeggers are being reminded to recycle their Christmas Tree by taking it to one of the City’s Let’s Chip In Depots after Christmas.

The city has 11 locations where trees can be dropped off between December 27, 2013 to January 20, 2014. Trees must be free from all decorations, tinsel, plastic bags and tree stands.

Residents can help themselves to free wood chips while quantities last. Please bring your own container.

Trees placed next to garbage or recycling carts will not be collected. Last year, 14,500 trees were dropped off for recycling.
