December 20, 2013 10:27 AM | Sports

Winnipeg Goldeyes LogoThe Winnipeg Goldeyes have signed infielder Josh Mazzola for a third season.

The two-time Fish MVP, 27, saw action in 100 games for the Goldeyes last season, hitting .293 with a team leading 16 home runs and 64 RBI.

“He’s been super productive for us for the two seasons that we’ve had him and I absolutely love his versatility, both offensively and defensively,” manager Rick Forney said. “I am not sure there are many players in this league that could play every position on the field, with the exception of catcher.”

Prior to coming in Winnipeg, Mazzola spent three seasons in the San Francisco Giants organization, after signing with the Giants as a free agent following his collegiate career at Missouri State.

Mazzola will join teammates Amos Ramon, Brendan Lafferty and Jason Jarvis as instructors at the Winnipeg Goldeyes 2013 Holiday Skills Camp on Saturday. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Duckworth Centre on the campus of the University of Winnipeg.
