Winnipeg Police CrestSix people have been arrested following a Winnipeg police investigation into the trafficking of pharmaceuticals.

Project Dissolve was a joint investigation between the WPS and the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, which targeted the trafficking on Main Street between Sutherland Avenue and Selkirk Avenue.

“We have heard throughout the policing community that the illicit distribution of pharmaceuticals has become a health and safety issue across Canada,” said Inspector Cam Baldwin, Divisional Commander District 3. “This same concern was expressed at several community forums we hosted in the North End this spring.”

Four women and two men, ranging in age from 22 to 47, face a list of charges relating to the investigation.
