An 18-year-old man has been charged after allegedly stealing a vehicle and evading police.
Cops pulled over the vehicle Saturday morning in the area of Crystal Avenue and St. Anne’s Road for a traffic stop, when they noticed the vehicle had been stolen the day prior. The suspect took off and a chase ensued, but was aborted out of safety concerns.
The driver lost control a short time later and struck a tree in the 100 block of Crystal Avenue. A brief foot pursuit came to an end after the suspect confronted police and was Tasered unsuccessfully, but eventually arrested.
The suspect was taken to hospital in unstable condition due to injuries sustained in the crash. He’s facing numerous charges, including impaired driving.
