Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police have arrested a 60-year-old man after an erratic destruction-filled joyride.

Police say on Saturday night around 10:15 p.m. they received a report of a pickup truck that had struck a house in the 1200 block of Logan Avenue.

Before the truck collided with the house, police say the driver hit a number of other vehicles in the process. The 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 began by colliding with a SUV near McPhillips Street and Selkirk Avenue, continuing southbound while swerving lane to lane. The driver hit a yield sign and over the median into northbound traffic, where he hit a Cadillac before heading west.

An eastbound taxi was hit as the truck continued westbound on Logan Avenue across all lanes of traffic. A minivan was hit in the process before the truck plowed through a fence and eventually came to a rest against a house. Police were able to extricate the driver as he tried to flee, but got caught on a snowbank.

The suspect was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries sustained during his many collisions.

Kenneth Francis Villeneuve, 60, of Winnipeg faces a number of charges and remains in custody.
