University of Manitoba BisonsAfter a restful holiday break and a road trip out to Saskatchewan last weekend, the Manitoba Bison men’s hockey team returns to home ice on Friday and Saturday.

The Bisons (7-9-2) host the Mount Royal Cougars (6-9-1) in a set of games to begin the second half of the 2013-14 season at the Wayne Fleming Arena.

Manitoba has a 3-4-1 record so far this season at home and split with Mount Royal earlier in the season on the road. The Herd hasn’t played in their own arena since November 16 when they swept the Lethbridge Pronghorns in a two-game set.

This weekend’s games begin at 7 p.m. (Friday) and at a special time of 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Next door at Investors Group Athletic Centre, the Bison men’s and women’s basketball teams will host the Trinity Western Spartans on Friday and Fraser Valley Cascades on Saturday. Women’s tipoff is 6 p.m. and 5 p.m., with men playing at 8 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.
