RCMP Crest LogoA 68-year-old man from Oak Lake has died following injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday evening.

The man was a passenger in an eastbound Pontiac G6 on Highway 1 near the intersection of PR 332 when it struck a Chevrolet Suburban travelling west and attempting to turn south. RCMP say both vehicles had three occupants inside at the time of the crash, which happened at around 6:30 p.m.

The three people from the G6 and one from the Suburban were transported to hospital in Winnipeg for treatment of their injuries. At the time, police believed the injuries to be non-life threatening.

Police say the Oak Lake man from the G6 succumbed to his injuries on Thursday. The 63-year-old woman driving the Pontiac and a 67-year-old female passenger remain in hospital, as well as a 38-year-old woman from the Suburban.

Alcohol is not a factor in the accident and the name of the deceased isn’t being released.
