Man Dies in Snowmobile Crash, Another Injured

RCMP Crest LogoAlcohol is considered a factor in a snowmobile crash that killed a 28-year-old man on Saturday night.

The two-vehicle collision happened just before 9:30 p.m. on a trail near Rainbow Beach in the RM of Ochre River.

RCMP say a second man, 27, was taken to a Winnipeg hospital and remains in stable condition.

The name of the deceased isn’t being released.

UPDATE: Monday, May 26Erlender Sigurdson, 28, from Dauphin has been charged with impaired driving causing death. Sigurdson was 27 at the time of the collision. He will make his first court appearance in Dauphin Provincial Court on June 17, 2014.
