Local musicians will trade their instruments for curling brooms as they prepare for the Manitoba Music Rocks Charity Bonspiel.
Curling pro Jon Mead will lead a pack of amateur curlers on Sunday, February 2 at the Granite Curling Club.
The sold out bonspiel, presented by Manitoba Music and Manitoba Film & Music, will raise funds and awareness for the Unison Benevolent Fund, an assistance and referral program designed to provide discreet relief to music industry personnel in times of personal hardship and crisis.
To promote the bonspiel, “Breakfast Television” produced a video with Imaginary Cities’ Rusty Matyas, Oh My Darling’s Vanessa Kuzina, and a cast of others star in the instructional curling video spoof.
In its first three years, the bonspiel has raised over $10,000 for the Unison Fund.
