A new five-projection video installation exhibit opens at the Winnipeg Art Gallery tonight.

“The End — Rocky Mountains” is the work of Icelandic artist and musician Ragnar Kjartansson, who used the Canadian Rockies around Banff, Alberta as a backdrop.

“The five sites this video projection was shot in are idyllic, arranged in such a way that they echo each other,” said Stephen Borys, director and CEO of the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

“I’m certain the audience will enjoy the bourbon swigging, Davy Crockett-clad outlaws, and the intoxicating, ambiguous folk-country music video they’ve created.”

The End will run from January 18 to April 20. A free public opening begins at 7 p.m. tonight.
