Assiniboine Community CollegeAssiniboine Community College (ACC) has opened up applications for its two-year practical nursing program in Brandon and Winnipeg.

Applications for the Winnipeg training centre closed in August 2010 and February 2013 for Brandon due to high demand.

The college will begin to process and review applications on Monday, February 3. The priority will be to fill seats for both Brandon and Winnipeg for September 2014 and then January 2015, however a wait list for qualified applicants will be held for future intakes.

“The demand for our program and for those wanting a career in nursing hasn’t changed. We are expecting hundreds of applications and anticipate that we will be able to fill the program at both locations for at least two years,” said Karen Hargreaves, ACC’s dean of the School of Health and Human Services.

Class sizes for the programs in Brandon and Winnipeg allow for 35 students in both the September and January intakes, for a total of 140 students.
