Winnipeg Goldeyes LogoThe Winnipeg Goldeyes have re-signed right-handed pitcher Chris Kissock for the 2014 season.

Kissock, 28, appeared in 50 games for Winnipeg last season. The product of Fruitvale, B.C. posted a 2-4 record and 2.70 ERA in 53 1/3 innings of work. He compiled 56 strikeouts and allowed just nine walks for a career-best 6.22 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

“He had a fantastic season last year in his American Association debut,” manager Rick Forney said. “He was really consistent and reliable. He pounded the bottom of the strike zone and he wants to pitch every day. With him and Brendan Lafferty returning, we’re hoping our seventh and eighth inning situation will be as good this year as it was last year.”

The Goldeyes now have 10 players signed for the 2014 season, including six pitchers and four position players.
