Winnipeg is looking for a new “Voice of the Goldeyes.”

Earlier this morning, long time Winnipeg Goldeyes broadcaster Paul Edmonds submitted his resignation to general manager Andrew Collier to pursue a career opportunity with TSN 1290.

“It has been an absolute pleasure working with Paul for the past 19 seasons. Goldeyes fans of all ages will miss hearing him call games in a manner that was truly his own,” Collier said in a statement.  “He is without a doubt one of the best play-by-play announcers in the game of baseball, not just at the independent level, but anywhere in baseball. The American Association will be without one of the great ambassadors of the game.”

“On behalf of the entire Goldeyes organization, I’d like to wish him all the best in his new venture. We know that he will bring the same passion and enthusiasm to his new position as he has for the past 19 seasons calling Goldeyes baseball,” Collier added.
