Artist alumni of Artbeat Studio will put their talent to use on February 6 to create a piece of artwork over the span of 24 hours.
The 24-Hour Art-a-thon is being organized by Red River College student Rebecca Henderson as part of the Creative Communications program.
The event will raise funds for Artbeat Studio’s endowment fund, which sustains the studio’s core programs and increases awareness for mental illness.
“The 24-Hour Art-a-thon will be a great way for Artbeat Studio to increase funding for its programs,” said Artbeat Studio alumni and 24-Hour participant Victoria Stone. “Artbeat Studio is such a unique organization and they do so much for people — from that perspective I think it’s super.”
Other artists include Tara Davis, Hai Romana, Julian Kirchmann, Marcus Bauer, Kathleen Crosby, and Laurie Green.
The event will conclude at 5 p.m. on February 7, where afterwards there will be a celebration with refreshments, live music and an art auction.
