Police Investigate Magnus Avenue Shooting

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg Police are investigating after a man was shot on Thursday night in Winnipeg’s North End.

At around 8:10 p.m. emergency personnel responded to the 600 block of Magnus Avenue after reports of a gunshot, where they discovered a 37-year-old man who appeared to have been shot in his upper body. The victim was taken to hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Investigation revealed that a group of males had been causing a disturbance in the area when the victim went out the back of his residence and yelled at the group to get away, one male ran past him in an apparent attempt to flee from the group. When the victim was closing his door on his way back inside his house, he was shot in the upper body. The suspects then left the scene.
