Graphic design students from Red River College will spend two days creating original art pieces to be auctioned off at The Forks.

The 12th annual Art Festival and Auction runs Saturday and Sunday, where students will see proceeds from their creative pieces going to support Winnipeg Harvest and their own graduating class.

“This began as a way for the students to stretch their skills and showcase some of the amazing talent we have in Winnipeg,” said Mo Razik, event producer and owner of Fenton’s Wine Merchants. “It has become both a spectator event and art auction at the same time, with the students creating almost as popular as the auction itself. The calibre is phenomenal.”

The art festival runs Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A live auction, hosted by local comedian Jon Ljungberg, will follow from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
