Canada’s national women’s soccer team will play a friendly match in Winnipeg this spring against its American rivals.
The match on Thursday, May 8 at Investors Group Field will be the first national team home match in Winnipeg since 1990.
“We are thrilled to bring world-class women’s soccer back to Winnipeg and look forward to giving the fans in Manitoba a chance to come and support Canada’s Women’s National Team on the road to Canada 2015,” said Peter Montopoli, Canada Soccer’s general secretary
Winnipeg is also one of the six official host cities for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015.
Tickets for the Canada-USA match go on sale Friday, February 14 through Ticketmaster. Prices start at $20, with special group discounts and a reduced family pack also being made available.

The match will be broadcast live on Sportsnet.
