The Winnipeg Folk Festival has come forward to sponsor a category at the upcoming 2014 Juno Awards.
The Folk Fest’s name will be tied to the Roots and Traditional Album of the Year: Group Award when it’s handed out on March 29 at the RBC Convention Centre.
The award will be presented during the 2014 Juno Gala Dinner and Awards.
“Being a part of a prestigious event such as the Juno Awards is incredibly important to our city and, in particular, our organization,” said Lynne Skromeda, executive director of the Winnipeg Folk Festival. “We strongly support Canadian musicians and are thrilled to be celebrating their hard work with this award sponsorship.”
The 2014 Junos will be broadcast on CTV on Sunday, March 30 from MTS Centre.
