Winnipeg police have charged a Regina man in connection with a double homicide of a couple last summer.
The bodies of Unice Ophelia Crow, 19, and Trevor James Sinclair, 31, were found in a Chestnut Street apartment on September 4. Police say the victims were both stabbed multiple times in the upper body.
It’s believed the couple was killed on August 29, but their bodies weren’t discovered until days later after friends grew concerned of their whereabouts.
Jeffrey James Kionke, 44, was arrested by Regina police on February 5 and returned to Winnipeg. He has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder for his alleged involvement and remains in custody at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
Police say Kionke lived in the same Wolseley area rooming house as the victims.
