An erratic-driving SUV that sped through the community of Mafeking, Manitoba on Sunday ended with two people being sent to hospital.
RCMP say a 2011 Ford Escape drove through town at excessive speeds, lost control, and landed in a creek after becoming airborne. The accident happened near the town’s bridge approximately 70 kilometres north of Swan River on Highway 10.
Two of the three people in the SUV were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, including the driver.
The 32-year-old woman driving the vehicle has been charged with careless driving.
Speed is considered a factor in the crash, but alcohol has been ruled out.
