Red River College has graduated 107 students in its inaugural Bachelor of Nursing degree program.
The college’s accelerated program launched in 2010 and is a four-year academic course delivered over three calendar years.
“The curriculum was developed to provide flexibility, efficiency and a wider range of clinical experiences, and to allow students to complete the program in a shorter time frame than other nursing degree programs,” said Karen Wall, chair of RRC’s Nursing program. “The success of this program’s design has the potential to be a model for delivery of nursing programs across the country.”
Approximately 600 students are registered in the program, which is also available to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) in Winkler, Selkirk, Neepawa, Dauphin, Steinbach and Portage la Prairie.
