Delegates from the International Winter Cycling Congress are riding in an urban tour to sample some of Winnipeg’s best food this evening.
About 40 riders will cycle down the Red River Mutual Trail, enjoy a meal at RAW:almond and warm up with hot espresso and lattes at Millennium Library Park as part of A Moveable Feast.
“The use of active transportation helps to contribute to the vibrancy of the downtown area,” said Stephanie Voyce of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ. “The tour’s goal is to demystify winter cycling, promote local restaurants, and celebrate downtown Winnipeg as a premier winter destination.”
Winnipeg is hosting the second annual International Winter Cycling Congress this week, as delegates from around the world explore the best practices in cycling design, policy and promotion of year-round active transportation.
Riders will gather at The Forks at 4:45 p.m. for the approximately three-hour tour.
