Winnipeg Goldeyes outfielder/infielder Ryan Scoma has been dealt to the Toronto Blue Jays after his contract was purchased by the MLB organization.
Scoma will report to minor league spring training with Toronto next month.
“We are thrilled for Ryan that he is getting this opportunity with the Jays,” Goldeyes manager Rick Forney said of the 26-year-old. “He did a tremendous job for us last year and we wish him the best back in affiliate baseball.”
Scoma finished third in the American Association last season with a .341 batting average. In 81 games, he also hit four home runs, drove in 46 runs and posted a .443 on-base percentage, good for second in the league.
