A 37-year-old Manitoba RCMP constable has been charged with theft after a lengthy police investigation.
RCMP’s “D” Division began investigating on May 30, 2013 after the allegations surfaced that one of their off-duty members had been involved in a theft.
After consulting with Manitoba Justice, Walter Chartier of The Pas was formally charged with theft under $5,000 on Monday.
Chartier has been reassigned to administrative duties pending a court appearance in Winnipegosis in March.
