Former Winnipeg Blue Bombers cornerback Willie Amos is showing off his jump-roping skills to local students this week.

Amos, who is the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s world jump rope champion, is the honourary JUMP Coach for a sixth consecutive year.

JUMP is a school-based program, which aims to help children lead a heart-healthy and active lifestyle. Schools take part in a fundraising component to raise money and support the fight against heart disease and stroke. In 2012-2013, the JUMP program raised more than $664,000 from 180 schools across Manitoba.

Amos will show students how to jump when he visits Beaumont, Beaverlodge and Machray schools beginning today.
