Two people have been ticketed for trying to smuggle liquor into a dry Manitoba community.
RCMP intercepted the pair at the Poplar River airport on Tuesday afternoon after being tipped off. A search of their luggage turned up 24 bottles, 750 ml in size, of spirits.
The liquor was seized by police as Poplar River is a dry community that prohibits the use of alcohol.
A man and a woman, both 25, were issued tickets of $1,260 each under the Liquor Control Act.
