Astronaut Major Jeremy Hansen (CANADIAN SPACE AGENCY)
Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen is in Winnipeg today and Friday to meet with local students and share with them what it takes to become an astronaut.
Prior to joining the Canadian Space Program, Hansen served as a CF-18 fighter pilot and held the position of Combat Operations Officer at Four Wing Operations in Cold Lake, Alberta.
Hansen will visit Sisler High School today to speak with 100 students in grades 10-12. Schools from northern Manitoba will also be connected via video conference.
On Friday, Hansen will stop at the Manitoba Museum and Woodlands Elementary School in Woodlands, MB, where three students from Brant-Argyle School who sent their experiment on cancer to the International Space Station in January will share their experience.
