A two-day conference beginning today aims to connect people from across Manitoba with each other and their local food system.
The 2014 Growing Local Conference is being presented by Food Matters Manitoba and is a kick off to March being Nutrition Month.
This year boasts plenty of interaction and workshops from some of Manitoba’s food champions. In one of the 34 workshops, Fruit Share’s Getty Stewart will host an interactive session on dehydrating Manitoba fruits, and keynote speakers Michael Moss and Thomas Allen will share their food industry knowledge.
“It is an information hub for anyone interested in healthy living and long-term, local food systems right here in Manitoba,” said Kreesta Doucette, executive director of Food Matters Manitoba.
The conference is being held today and Saturday at the Marlborough Hotel.
