March 4, 2014 8:54 AM | News

Canadian Red CrossA free information session organized by the Canadian Red Cross and RBC will discuss how the business community can join in to stand up against bullying.

The Pink Panel on March 7 will be held at the RBC Convention Centre from noon to 1 p.m.

The session will feature a youth panel discussion moderated by the Red Cross about the realities of bullying from the youths’ perspectives. Insights into the support parents and adults can provide, including how to recognize, respond to and prevent bullying will also be shared.

“The Pink Panel is a great opportunity for the business community to hear directly from youth about what they can do to prevent bullying in our boardrooms and our classrooms,” said Shawn Feely, provincial director of the Red Cross in Manitoba. “The Red Cross works every day to engage entire communities to help build safer schools for everyone.”

The event leads up to the national Day of Pink on April 9, which brings together schools and organizations to wear pink and stand up for respect while raising funds supporting education, awareness and bullying prevention training.
