A Grand Marais couple is the province’s newest set of millionaires.
Blynda and Ian Thomas claimed their $1 million Lotto Max prize Thursday in Winnipeg.
The win comes after Blynda visited the community’s convenience store on February 28 to purchase snacks in advance of watching a movie with her husband.
“I forgot everything that I went to the store to get,” Blynda said after discovering she was a winner.
The couple doesn’t have any major plans for their winnings, although they would like to take a trip somewhere warm and purchase a new vehicle.
The Thomas’ son, who lives in Calgary, will be coming home this weekend to celebrate with the family.
