City Delivering Potable Water to Those Affected by Frozen Pipes

March 6, 2014 2:45 PM | News

City of WinnipegThe City of Winnipeg is making potable water available to citizens and businesses affected by frozen pipes.

As of Thursday, 722 properties were on the list and that number seems to be growing daily.

The city will be checking in with those already without water to see if a temporary supply is required. For those who need it, arrangements will be made with the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service to have water delivered in reusable 20-litre jugs.

The city on Monday offered free public pool access to those needing to make use of the shower facilities.

To alleviate future homes running into the same problem, the city is asking residents whose neighbours have frozen pipes to run their taps around-the-clock to prevent pipes from freezing up.
