An outdoor celebration of the arts will be held in Central Park this spring.
During his annual state of the city address on Friday, Mayor Sam Katz said the spring arts concert will include performances by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Sarah Sommer Chai Folk Ensemble and Rusalka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble.
“Winnipeg is home to some of the finest performing arts organizations in the country, if not the world,” Katz said. “We are fortunate to have such dedicated, talented performers representing our city on the international stage and it is a pleasure to have this opportunity to celebrate their many accomplishments.”
The idea for the concert was conceived by the four arts organizations and will be free of charge to the public.
Further details, including the time and date of the event, will be announced in the coming weeks.
