Ten military members with CFB Shilo were injured after two trucks collided on Wednesday evening in a training area.
Nine of the members with the 2nd Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (2PPCLI) were sent to hospital after the crash, which occurred on a gravel road during a military training exercise.
All of those injured were released from hospital shortly after and a military police investigation is underway. A spokesperson for the base says icy road conditions may have been a contributing factor.
“All of these soldiers will be re-assessed this morning at the CFB Shilo military hospital. The health of our soldiers is vitally important. We wish them all a full and speedy recovery,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Bob Ritchie, Commanding Officer of the 2PPCLI.
