With the Juno Awards in Winnipeg in just over two weeks, the Winnipeg Art Gallery will host an art exhibit that pairs Canadian music with like-minded art.
The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) has partnered with the WAG for the Juno Tour of Canadian Art.
Juno Award nominees this year and/or past winners select works within the gallery’s Canadian collections that serve as personal or artistic inspiration. Their response is video recorded, and displayed in the gallery next to their chosen piece on screen and via a gallery label, as a part of the tour. Access to the exhibit is free with gallery admission.
Participating artists include Dean Brody, Fred Penner, John K. Samson (The Weakerthans), Monster Truck, Royal Canoe, and The Pack A.D.
The exhibit is hosted at a gallery in the host city of the Juno Awards every year.
