Humane Society Licence Plate Available April 1

March 14, 2014 3:11 PM | News

Vehicle owners can show their love for animals province-wide with a new specialty licence plate.

The Winnipeg Humane Society plate will be available April 1 from Autopac agents across Manitoba.

The cost of the plate is $70, with $30 of that fee going to support the programs and services provided by the WHS.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with the province and Manitoba Public Insurance to make these plates available to the public,” said Bill McDonald, CEO of the Winnipeg Humane Society.  “We receive between 8,000 and 9,000 animals each year and care for nearly 400 animals at any given time.  Our supporters are passionate about animal advocacy and this new plate is the perfect way for them to promote the work we do wherever they go.”

The design of the plate was created in-house by Sara Smith, an events organizer with the WHS.

This is the eighth specialty plate to be administered by the province.
