To celebrate the first day of spring on Thursday, 7-Eleven is inviting customers to bring their own cups to fill with Slurpee.
The first-ever Bring Your Own Cup Day will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time across the country. The receptacle doesn’t even have to be an actual cup — as long as it’s clean and sanitary, customers can bring any container they wish measuring no more than 26 cm in diameter for $1.49.
Slurpee in a vase, blender, watering can or piggy bank, anyone?
“Slurpee is all about having fun, expressing your individuality and enjoying amazing, exclusive flavours — what better way to kick-off the Slurpee season,” said Raj Kapoor, VP and general manager of 7-Eleven Canada in a release.
Customers who take a selfie of themselves drinking from a unique container can also have a chance at winning a year’s worth of Slurpees. Upload the photo to the Slurpee Canada Facebook page to enter.
Winnipeg currently holds the title as being the Slurpee Capital of the World for the past 13 years.
