Customers to any Manitoba Liquor Mart location and the Casinos of Winnipeg will be able to make a donation to the Ukrainian Canadian Congress beginning next week.
Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries is collecting donations to be used to purchase needed medication, means of shelter, clothing and food products to support the humanitarian assistance needed in Ukraine.
Starting Wednesday, March 26, patrons at the casinos can make cash or cheque donations at the coat check areas of both Club Regent Casino and McPhillips Station Casino. Customers at Liquor Marts can donate at all locations in Winnipeg and throughout the province.
“Like everyone, we have been watching the events unfold in Ukraine,” said Minister Ron Lemieux, minister responsible for Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries. “We know how deeply Manitoba is connected to Ukraine and wanted to take tangible action in making it easier for Manitobans to support the humanitarian efforts of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.”
The provincial government will match customer and employee donations to a maximum of $50,000.
