Winnipeg police have charged one of their own after a lengthy investigation.
Police began investigating Const. Remi Van Den Driessche in July 2013 and have since laid criminal charges against the eight-year member.
Van Den Driessche, 39, has been charged with sexual assault, two counts of breach of trust, two counts of extortion, and four counts of criminal harassment.
Police say the allegations involved both on and off duty conduct.
Van Den Driessche was released on a promise to appear and is currently on administrative leave.
