City Reopens Margaret Grant Pool Following Renos

March 28, 2014 11:38 AM | News

Margaret Grant Pool in Winnipeg’s south end has reopened after a $1.4 million renovation.

The pool was closed for nine months to modernize the facility, including renovations of the change rooms, a new reception area, accessibility features and a retiled pool and pool deck.

A rededication ceremony on Friday honoured the pool’s namesake. Margaret Grant was a long-time resident of Fort Garry and was synonymous with aquatics in Manitoba. The facility was named in her honour in 1972.

The pool sees about 60,000 visitors annually who use it to keep active and learn to swim.
