With just days to go before specialty Winnipeg Humane Society licence plates go on sale, the organization is giving animal lovers the chance to bid on the first few numbers.
Vehicle owners can bid on the top 50 plates starting at 9 a.m. today, beginning with plate #HS0001 with an opening bid of $150.
Plates #HS0002 to #HS00010 will be a guaranteed bid of $100, while #HS0011 to #HS0050 will begin at $50.
The cost of the plate is $70 through any Autopac agent starting April 1, with $30 of the fee going back to the Humane Society.
