Spring break begins on Monday and the Assiniboine Park Zoo is finding ways to keep kids busy.

Daily “Get to Know the Polar Bears” sessions are being held daily at 10:30 a.m. beginning today, with polar bear keepers giving talks on each of the zoo’s four bears. Visitors will hear all about Hudson, Storm, Aurora and Kaska, including their diet, what they eat, their favourite pastimes and how they get along with each other.

The zoo will also host “Crazy About Camels” daily at 1 p.m. to educate visitors on the animals, and a “Feeding Frenzy” at 3 p.m. as zoo keepers make the rounds to each animal for their late day feeding.

“We’re excited to have spring break right around the corner. The zoo always feels more vibrant when it’s filled with children and families,” said Dr. Brian Joseph, director of zoological operations. “We encourage everyone to come out and see the polar bears, enjoy some quality time with loved ones, and we may even sneak a little learning into your visit.”

Spring break activities run through Sunday, April 6 during regular zoo hours.
