Sixth annual Trek for Tourette at Assiniboine Park on Sunday, March 30, 2014. (HOWARD WONG / FOR CHRISD.CA)
Hundreds laced up Sunday for the sixth annual Trek for Tourette at Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg.
The 5 km walk is held annually on the last Sunday of March in communities across Canada in support of the Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada. It’s also the country’s only national fundraiser for Tourette Syndrome.
Those looking for a little more of a challenge also ran in a 10 km trek. Temperatures hovered around the 1°C mark, bringing out some participants in nothing more than a T-shirt and shorts.
Proceeds from the event will go to fund research, advocacy, self-help resources, and educational programs for people with Tourette Syndrome.
Donations are still being accepted at Tourette.ca.
