Charges will not be laid against the owners of two dogs that fatally mauled a seven-year-old girl near Oakbank in March.
Gracie Herntier-Clark was visiting family friends in the RM of Springfield on March 16 when two Alaskan Malamute dogs attacked her.
The St. Andrews girl was rushed to hospital in Winnipeg following the incident and was pronounced deceased.
It’s unclear what sparked the attack, but the dogs were known to the girl. Both animals were seized by Springfield Animal Control while RCMP carried out their investigation and have since been euthanized.
