Spencer West (HANDOUT)
Double amputee and motivational speaker Spencer West is embarking on a coast-to-coast road trip, including a stop in Winnipeg.
The We Create Change Tour will connect with tens of thousands of young Canadian change-makers across nine provinces, and is a celebration of students opening the doors to education around the world.
The Me to We speaker, author and Free The Children ambassador will visit Winnipeg May 21-23, along with Canadian chart-topping group, Neverest, 11-year-old activist Hannah Alper, cast members from the Emmy-nominated TV series “Degrassi” and other surprise guests.
Spencer’s appearance will be open to schools who fundraise for the initiative.
“Fifty-seven million children are still denied access to education. I’ve had the chance to speak with young people around the world, who dream of changing their lives and the lives of their families through education,” West said. “I’ve seen firsthand, the difference that going to school can make for a girl in Kenya, or a young boy in Ghana.”
The tour will also stop in Brandon on May 26.
