A new Winnipeg radio station went live on the FM dial Monday morning.
Rhythm 104.7 is a new format by NCI FM, replacing the existing Streetz 104.7.
“With a playlist that includes contemporary rhythmic hits and R&B classics, we feature artists such as Drake, Frank Ocean and Pharrell to name a few. A perfect and entertaining sound for your car, your office or at home,” the station said in a release.
Rhythm is targeting the 25-40 age demographic, something much more inclusive than the aboriginal youth demo Streetz was going after.
Rhythm says the rebrand is not about competing with the other stations, but more about providing a viable and distinct listening experience to a slightly older demographic.
