A taxi stolen in Selkirk on Monday was used as a getaway vehicle in an attempted convenience store robbery in Winnipeg.
Just after midnight on Tuesday morning, police were called to the 1000 block of McPhillips Street, where a suspect armed with a weapon attempted to rob the store.
He fled empty-handed in the taxi, which police soon spotted at another convenience store in the 1000 block of McGregor Street. The suspect, who had been concealing his identity, was arrested without incident.
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with several robbery-related offences and was detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
