Winnipeg Launches Social Media Accounts for Civic Election

Winnipeg Civic Election 2014The City of Winnipeg has launched dedicated social media accounts leading up fall’s civic election.

Through the city’s 2014 Election app, users can tap the “Election Buzz” button to be linked to both Twitter and Facebook feeds providing up-to-date election information.

“It is important that all aspects of social media are utilized to help keep the public informed about the 2014 Election,” said Marc Lemoine, senior election official. “We want to engage residents in as many ways as possible and increase participation in the 2014 Election.”

Voters head to the polls on October 22.
