Two people were sent to hospital Wednesday afternoon after a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 1 just west of Portage la Prairie.
RCMP responded to the scene at around 4 p.m. at Highway 1 and Road 42, where they say a Chevrolet Traverse collided with a grain auger being towed by a pickup truck. The Traverse was then rear-ended by a westbound semi-trailer truck.
Police say the Traverse was travelling westbound on Highway 1 at the time when it hit the southbound auger.
The 45-year-old woman driving the Traverse was taken to hospital with unknown injuries, along with her 18-year-old female passenger as a precautionary measure. The 58-year-old man driving the pickup and the 49-year-old driver of the semi weren’t injured.
Police continue to investigate.
